Koohsangi park

Koohsangi park

Located between the mountains, Kooh Sangi Park-Mashhad is the must see of most of the travelers during the night after a full-day pilgrimage in Imam Reza holy shrine.

In Farsi, Koohsangi means “the stone Mountain” because of it’s location between the tall climaxes of Mount Binalud. The climb stairs reach you to the top to see a great view of Mashhad and Imam Reza holy shrine. It takes you about 10 minutes.

Among the natural beauties, the Khorasan museum add some cultural taste to the park. Inspired by the the architecture of the Kalat-e Naderi (during the ruling of King Nader Shah Afshar), the tomb’s materials were chosen from the hard stones of the grass or the monolithic granite known as the stone of every one.

Kooh sangi is absolutely included in the list of top three popular destinations of Mashhad after Imam Reza holy shrine and Tomb of Ferdowsi.

Tips to follow:

– The park is a bit far away from city center but you can reach there by taxi quickly.
– Try Iranian delicious meal called “Dizi” there in a traditional restaurant located nearby.
